Utility rebate programs can cover 30-70% of your LED fixture costs. Here's a state-by-state guide to the largest commercial lighting rebate programs in 2026.

How Utility Rebates Work

  • Prescriptive rebates: Fixed dollar amount per fixture type (most common)
  • Custom/calculated rebates: Based on actual kWh savings (larger projects)
  • Upstream rebates: Discount applied at point of purchase by distributor
  • Key requirement: Almost all programs require DLC-listed fixtures. All Auvolar commercial products are DLC Premium certified.

    How to Apply for Rebates

    Step 1: Verify Program Availability

Check your utility's website or call their commercial efficiency department. Programs have annual budgets that can run out.

    • Invoices showing fixture quantities and prices
    • Photos of old fixtures (some programs require)
    • Completed rebate application form

    Step 3: Submit Application

    • Pre-approval: Some programs require application BEFORE purchase
    • Post-installation: Most accept applications within 90 days of installation
    • Contractor submission: Some utilities allow your electrician to submit on your behalf

    Step 4: Receive Rebate
